Permanent exhibition

The peak of the silk industry in the 19th century is followed by a rapid decline: the market for luxury goods collapses during the First and Second World Wars and silk ribbons are no longer fashionable. The ribbon manufacturers will find different solutions or go bankrupt. The last silk ribbon factory in the area closes in 2001. Some of the most beautiful collections are on display at this exhibition.

Institution

The Museum.BL is an open and lively thematic museum for all children and grown-ups. It invites its visitors, especially families, to explore issues relating to the environment, the past and present-day life. Interaction is guaranteed.
